The equalizer settings on the headset's decoder box help maintain your media's original acoustic properties and allow you to fine-tune your personal audio experience.
Hear Your own Voice with Selectable Voice Monitoring (SVM) SVM allows you to choose whether or not you want to hear your voice through the headset. When certain situations - - like those late-night gaming sessions - - dictate that you talk softly or loudly into the mic, easily activate/deactivate SVM with the push of a button and take control of all your conversations. Independent Game and Voice Volume Control If the chatter from your online rivals gets distracting and starts to hinder your gameplay experience, just turn a dial on the headset's in-line audio controller to quickly tune them out. Game volume can also be adjusted on-the-fly so you can drown out your foe's voice but still hear stealthy in-game footsteps creeping up behind you. Flexible Performance Mic can be Removed when not in use When not communicating over Xbox LIVE or the PlayStation Network and just listening to music or watching a film, a headset's microphone only gets in the way. Problem solved with the 720+ 5.1 Surround Headset's removable solution - - it provides the freedom to use the mic only when necessary.

First let me say that this is only my second headset, the other is the TB X12 which I highly recommend too.Quality built8/10My TB X12 feel more resistant to falls and everything. I'd say these are solid, and since I am the kind of guy who takes care of his things and treat them nicely I am sure I won't have any problems with these. Now, if you are the kind of person who throws their stuff like it is garbage then you are probably going to break them in less than a year. ADVANTAGE X12 BUT TRITTONS LOOK WAY SEXIER.I like how they look but I'd love them even more if they were black as the Warheads (why do them white when the Xbox and PS3 are black??)Sound Quality9/10At first it was a bit hard to hear footsteps (in CoD and Halo) thanks to the high bass and high environmentt sound (explosions sound great), but after a few days I got used to it and started to hear the footsteps, and with the surround sound I could tell where the enemies were, much better than the X12, ADVANTAGE TRITTONNote: YES, there is a buzzing noise but seriously I am kind of picky and somewhat hard to satisfy but IMO this ISN'T a big problem, once the game starts you won't notice it.Comfort9/10If you have a big head you may want to look elsewhere, I have a slightly bigger head than the average person and I had to fully extend them to fit me. For me the comfort is great, feels good. ADVANTAGE TRITTONMic9/10A bit sensitive, it does register my breathing but all you have to do is twist the mic a little and put it facing your chin and the breathing is gone. If they had added that cover they put on mics I would have give them 10/10. ADVANTAGE X12Some other thingsIt is great that it comes with 2 cables for the Xbox controller, in case one fails.Hearing yourself in this... it is a bit loud, specially if you laugh, not a big problem since you can turn it off. After getting used to the headset I gotta say I am pretty happy with it and I highly recommend them. If you have the money go for it, this is the best you can get under $150. Read more ›

I want to put this up to let people know these are compatible with PlayStation 4. I had mine for about a year they started acting up as some of the speakers went. The return process was super easy in the process I found out they had a two-year warranty which is great. I sent in my headphones boxing cables they sent me a brand-new pair of headphones and on the box was a sticker that said PlayStation 4. Now I was kind of worried that they would work with the PlayStation for but lo and behold they do and that's awesome.I uploaded a picture of the box the front of it in the pictures above so you can see the sticker.Aside from that these headphones are awesome great directional sound deftly gives an advantage in Call of Duty. Thanks for reading!

This review might be a little disorganized but I'll just tell you guy's my likes and dislikes.I've tried out a variety of different gaming headphones for the last two years. Just with Tritton and Turtle Beach. I'm a serious gamer. I game A LOT. Before I had these, I had the Turtle Beach PX5. They're wireless which is nice but also sucks. I had rechargeable batteries but it seemed like during a game of Search and Destroy in Modern Warfare 3 or in Gears of War 3, I'd have to replace my batteries. It sucked. I had those for about 6 months. So I looked for a pair of nice, wired gaming headphones that I wouldn't have to worry about changing batteries all the time. And that's exactly what I found. The sound on the Tritton 720+ is great. It's not as good as the PX5, but you get what you pay for. I LOVE the bass in these. It helps add effect to when you're playing. The explosions rumble, or when your playing Forza Horizon, the music sounds great along with the car sounds and effects too. I find it hard at times to hear people who are talking on Xbox Live. The sound that comes out of the chat sounds a little cheap for when people talk. I also find the mic to be a little too sensitive. If you make a little sound, people can hear it. I also have a tower fan going next to me to keep me cool and I keep it on low but yet from about 3 feet away it still picks it up. I had no problem with my Turtle Beaches when I had my fan going. The comfort for these are great. I wear glasses so wearing my Turtle Beaches after an hour or so started to hurt the side of my head from the Beaches pushing my glasses. I wore them for 5 hours + and had no problems with any discomfort, but I do feel almost as if its made for a smaller head. I wear about a 7 1/8 hat size and these fit me perfectly. The adjustments on these seem to not stay in place at times. When I adjust it on my head and wear them, I really don't have this problem. But if you take them off, the weight from each side seems to weigh down the adjustments and I always find my self having to readjust them.Overall, I really do love the headphones but there are some minor flaws. Sound is great. Comfort is amazing and I would still recommend these to people. I would like to see these to be a bit cheaper.UPDATE 12-22-12:I still love this headset but a few days ago, the right ear went out. I've only had it for 6 weeks, which is pathetic considering I had numerous pairs of other gaming headsets and had no problems with any other headset. I do take really good care of my gear, especially if I'm dropping $150+ on a gaming headset. To me, it's just a designer flaw. The adjustable volume piece will fall down from the weight of it, pushing/ tearing the cord that connects to your headset and it slowly did that with my headset. I still think this headset is great but now I'm highly disappointed because of what causes this to happen. I would wait to buy this headset to see if they fix this problem. I've never tried them, but around Christmas I'm going to be buying the Astro A40s because I've heard a lot of good things about them. Read more ›

I bought these on sale with free shipping to use with my Xbox One because I could not justify spending $170 for Turtle Beach XO 7's which only output in basic stereo. Tritton 720s output in Dolby digital through the provided decoder box and into the headphones via a simulated 7.1 signal. They sound fantastic once you set up your Xbox One sound settings to bitstream out and select the Dolby signal. Use the provided optical audio cable to connect the Xbox One to the decoder box and you're in business. All the wires you need are provided with the unit, save the Xbox One chat adapter. I already had a credit at a local game store for that, so no additional expense for me there. After a quick controller update, I found these headsets to provide fantastic audio for both in-game and chat. They are snug fitting for me, but overall a solid build in my opinion. I realize comfort is subjective, so I'll leave it to others to decide of they like the fit or not. I prefer the snugness. These headsets are also "wired" with a single 13 foot cable connecting them to the decoder box. I prefer this, but others may not. The connecting cable has a quick detach link, so you can break connection and walk away easily if necessary. I would strongly suggest that anyone considering purchasing a headset for the Xbox One either use what you have for the current gen and just buy a chat adaptor, especially if you have a unit that is already capable of using Dolby signal, or buy something like these Trittons or Astros which have a mix amp or decoder box. Don't waste your money for a limp stereo sound. I was due a new set anyway, so I bought these (Astros are great, but wife would hurt me if I spent that money, ha ha). One more quick note, if you can't hear yourself via Selective Voice Monitoring on these, remember to depress the SVM volume switch to engage the feature.
