HOW TO INSTALL :
In Windows 7, this is the process to installing the gaming receiver:
First, download the latest driver from Microsoft
Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers
Right click on "unspecified Device"
Click on "Properties"
Click on the "Hardware" tab
Click on "Update Driver"
Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
Click on "Let me pick from a list..."
Select the Microsoft Controller.
Then select the Xbox 360 Wireless receiver for Windows Version 2.1.0.1349 [4/8/2009])

i don't know why people say it does not work with it but after following the instructions correctly i got to work.1. plug in device (it won't be recognized)2. download Xbox 360 Accessories Software 1.2 from Microsoft and install.3. now go to start - right click computer - manage4.find the device-right click update driver5. click browse computer for driver software- click Let pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.6. finally pick Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows

it was shipped quickly and works perfectly on games but not all games work with a controller so if you think your gonna play all pc games with this its not gonna happen lol but it works great for the games that do

The handler was good on shipping time and on product quality, when i got the wireless receiver i was instantly able to play many of my pc games on a console like setting (which for some games is much more comfortable). This product has opened my ability to enjoy gaming at its finest on a pc and has also saved me money from buying just a normal wired controller from microsoft. i highly recommend this product for anyone looking to get into pc gaming from console gaming!

I so glad that I took a chance to buy this product. It got here sooner than expected, and I was very impressed with the quality. Other reviews claimed that the CD was cracked BUT mine was not. All you have to do is install the driver on the CD on to your computer, and plug in the receiver. I am running windows xp.

Bought this for my windows 8.1 laptop. When I first plugged it in my pc wouldn't recognize it so I had to manually install it. After that works great.

Great device, low price, but beware of drivers.

This is just what you would expect from a USB controller adapter. It does the job and its easy to edit with microsoft's own tools in Windows.The one thing that you might have to look through is different drivers. I had to try 3-4 drivers to find the proper one.So yeah, don't worry, its not a big deal.I love playing Just Cause 2 Multiplayer with the controller vibrations when there are explosions and I'm shooting. Its just a nice add-on.

Device does not connect

I followed the steps to install the drivers for the receiver. However, after dozens of attempts and hours of pointless persistence, my Xbox 360 controller will NOT connect to the receiver. I try to connect them, they both flash, but then the receiver just stops flashing while my controller still flashes, then fails to connect. This does not work.
