I really liked this game. There are some hard levels, but some are real easy. It took me a long time to go all the way through the different cities. In the game, you are Mario, and you are chasing Donkey Kong, who has captured Pauline...I would recommend this to kids ages 7& up...fun game...

I recently bought a GBA, and i found my old gameboy games, one of which was Donkey kong, this has to be one of the best games every released fot th gameboy, the game is really long, the first time through some of the levels are hard to figure out, the second time through they are just as fun as the first time this game has immense replay value. the first four levels are straight out of the origonal, the only problem with this is that anyone that has beaten the game will know all of marios tricks, and they can make the first levels a little to easy to beat. anyone who likes clasic or puzzle games should buy this game, or find the copy you have in your closet and blow the dust off of it.

I currently have Donkey Kong for Super Nintento and Nintendo 64 and they're both my favorite games for each system. When I got my Game Boy Color last month, this was the first game that I got. I played it all day, it was a blast! I had as much fun playing this game, as I do playing it on the other systems. It's definatley worth buying, especially since you can play it anywhere!

Yes, I am writing this review in 2011, and the game is quite old.Yes, the graphics aged quite a bit.But but but...It's such a great game! It's much funnier than any of the more recent "Mario vs. Donkey Kong"The level design is simply amazing, extremely clever, specially toward the end.The game is so good that you quickly forget about the graphics. The gameplay also surprised me. I thought Super Mario 64 was revolutionary, but many of Mario's movements were actually already included in this game (like the triple jump). If you are a fan of retro games, or Mario (the 2D games), or Mario vs. Donkey Kong, then get this game and play it.I loved it from the beginning till the end.I don't often finish games but this one I did finish.

I have had this game for a long time.I have 2 littil brothers and they love this game.My dad siad that he use to hav this game when he was a kid,and he loves it.So if your kids ask for this game, don't worry about the price get it for them!!!

I bought this on my 3DS using Club Nintendo points, and I don't know how I missed it before. The game was very large, difficult, and creative. I always hated the original arcade Donkey Kong. Mario died if you fell off a ledge (Yet he could withstand falling off of planets in Mario Galaxy), his hammer was useless because he could not climb up a ladder, and it only had 4 levels (3 in the NES port). This game fixed everything. Mario could fall to the next platform (but not all of the way to the ground), he could throw his hammer up and then climb a ladder before it fell, and the game included 100 LEVELS! Every level seemed to put Mario's moves at full power, he did a hand stand, climbed a vine, grabbed enemies, etc. After about 2-4 levels Mario faces Donkey Kong, which gets really interesting. One boss level was the first level Donkey Kong Jr., another ironically had Jr. flipping switches for his dad, and in one Mario had to climb up a massive bunch of ledges carrying a barrel to throw at DK. Every time Donkey Kong would grab Pauline and run away. The soundtrack is ultra catchy, even though the 8-bit tunes can be weak at times. If you don't play this, you are missing out on the world's greatest puzzles and challenges.

Donkey Kong is a highly addictive game. Mario is the main hero, and unlike the other Donkey Kong games, Donkey Kong is the villan. It is a highly addictive game, and has a good plot. It get's very tricky at times but that makes it even more fun.
