One of the most disappointed I have ever felt towards a media release in my entire life. Firstly, the game suffers from an identity crisis. It results in being mediocre in every category. It's a bland shooter, shallow loot game, and boring pseudo-mmo. It's like the bastard child of Borderlands and Halo, but doesn't live up to either. The story lacks the emotional depth and compelling nature of Halo and lacks the customization and humor of Borderlands.Pros:+ Graphics+ Solid Controls+ Peter Dinklage+ Fun Crucible PVP+ Fun Co-op with FriendsCons:- Terrible AI- Boring, Repetitive Questing- Dull Story/Lack of Characters- Generic Loot System- Groups limited to 3 Players- No voice communication with players in the world- Always Online DRM- Not solo friendlyHonestly, it feels like just another mediocre shooter trying to be Halo, but with horribly repetitive quests/missions that makes the game bland and uninteresting. Be ready to re-visit the same locations over and over again, regardless of the planet you are on. The locations are just rehashed over and over and you fight very few different enemy types. The sense of character progression is missing and nearly non-existent, despite the skill tree.Questing: Go to X, kill Y, repeat; all the missions are identical. All the guns feel the same, the maps are bland and they made it impossible to communicate with other players out in the world. The voice chat is extremely limited. You can only speak to another player if they are in the same Fireteam. I repeat, you CANNOT communicate with any of the players that you encounter out in the world. It doesn't make any sense.. Why include the ability to roam with other players if you can't interact? Just for the sake of calling it multiplayer? This is where they pretend to be slightly MMO.With the limitations on voice chat, it leaves you feeling as if you are playing alone or with A.I.Overall, I'd say that the game isn't horrible if you're looking for a new game to play with some friends. I absolutely recommend renting it first to see if you like it, but I don't agree that it's worth the price of a full game. I also don't recommend this game for anyone that is planning to play it completely solo. Many of the missions are not solo friendly and the game will become stale very quickly. Read more ›
