Where to Buy Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - Xbox

Description

Set in the year 2008, Ghost Recon is a Tom Clancy-inspired war game that puts you in command of a Special Forces unit pitted against Russian ultranationalists trying to rebuild the former Soviet Union. Although the story arc is grand in scale (in keeping with Clancy's style), the game doesn't involve you in the war's major battles. You'll actually spend most of your time behind enemy lines--rescuing downed fighter pilots, knocking out enemy patrols, ambushing armor columns. You control a six-man squad, divided into two teams, and you have the opportunity to handpick your squad members (and their equipment) after each mission briefing. You can switch your point of view to any of the six active soldiers--the soldier you control automatically becomes the leader of his team, while the other team operates according to orders you give via a map interface. Thus, you can move one team into a covering position, leave them with orders to provide cover fire, and then lead the other team in to reach your objective. Or, break up your squad and try to achieve two objectives simultaneously. The level of detail and realism is incredible, right down to the way the soldiers communicate in hushed tones and with gestures. The complexity of the game requires an elaborate controller setup that takes a while to get used to (luckily there are plenty of training missions designed to help you learn the multitude of movement, weapons, and command functions). Once you get the hang of it, you'll find it's worth the time spent in boot camp. --Maile Bohlmann Pros: Incredible graphics and realism Wide array of tactical options integrates strategy into the action Missions are diverse and challenging Cons: Controls are complicated, hard to master, and sometimes counterintuitive Dramatic music and "drill sergeant" narration between missions is pretty campy Enemy soldiers sometimes behave too predictably Note: This review refers to the PlayStation2 version of this game.

4 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended.

Ghost Recon is a welcome break from death match, you-must-be-on-speed-to-keep-up type games. Instead of pulling a trigger and running around until you kill someone, this game forces you to develop detailed strategies to accomplish your tasks. The action you do encounter (and there is plenty) is intensified by the fact the stakes are much higher -- a couple of bullets or a well-placed grenade takes you out of the game. This forces you to develop a properly planned and well executed course of action. The game is squad based. During single player mode, you play one of six soldiers and can switch between them at any time. Your player leads one squad of three, and you set a course of action for the other squad which is controlled by AI. As you complete missions and tasks, you unlock addition items such as new soldiers to choose from. Surviving missions also increases soldier skill.Ghost Recon has significant replay value. It has 15 levels and 50 different tasks to complete, but because there are so many strategies that can be used to complete a level, they can be played numerous times with the same enjoyment level. Of course, on-line play adds tremendous replay and excitement. In my opinion, the mark of a good game is how quickly time slips by while you are playing. Time after time I have intended to wrap up in 10 minutes only to find that an hour has passed. This is a fantastic game.I do have a few complaints. The graphics are generally good, but can be on the choppy side at times. I have also experienced instances where the AI squad didn't do what I had mapped out. But, for the most part, the game is a welcome addition to my game library.

4 out of 5 stars The Thinking Gamer's Halo
M. S. Hillis

After burning out on Halo deathmatch and hankering for some good action to get the gaming juices flowing, I finally bought this game a couple weeks ago. The result? I am seriously addicted, and find myself creeping out of bed after the wife is asleep to just try one more mission!I pretty much missed the whole tactical shooter phenomenon on the PC. I had gotten bored with endless varieties of Quake and tournament deathmatch and more or less gave up on the genre in favor of strategy games that take more thought and planning. So it's been a pleasant surprise to see how far a shooter can be taken and how a game like Ghost Recon is more of a military simulator than anything else.I wanted a game that has both a compelling single-player mode as well as deathmatch capabilities. Ghost Recon delivers on both. The single player game is great for the ability to select and customize the six soldiers that comprise your squad. You only directly control one at a time, but can guide the actions of the others through a command interface that sets movement waypoints as well as aggressiveness, and you can take control of any soldier at any time. In playing against others you control a squad of three. The command interface and squad set-up interfaces take a bit of getting used to, but I had it down pat after a couple sessions. The gameplay is great and full of suspense and anticipation. You usually need to proceed through the map very carefully, keeping a low stance to evade detection while constantly scanning the terrain for your enemies. Unlike Halo, in which your targetting reticle lights up when it scans over an opponent, you may be unsure at times over what you're really aiming at: an enemy soldier or just a tree? Also, forget about taking insane amounts of damage or finding a "health pack" to fix your wounds. A couple shots will kill your soldiers, and if they get wounded, they limp around for the rest of the mission. If they die, you lose that character forever and have to train a newbie for your next mission. The game is great at creating a sort of spooky atmosphere. You are plunked down in a strange area with a map but no idea where your enemies are. The blowing wind makes trees sway and rustle, adding random movement that keeps you constantly on your toes. When gunfire has erupted from aside or behind me, I have literally jumped in my seat. One drawback is the total lack of interactivity with the environment. You cannot pickup objects, even weapons or ammo from your own dead. You cannot even open or close doors.I have seen lots of complaints about graphics and while they are not stellar, as in Splinter Cell, they are good enough to convey a sense of realism. There are also complaints that the AI is too dumb to rely on to guide your other squad members. My biggest gripe with the AI is that it is sometimes TOO effective. Often my soldiers have taken out the enemy without me ever seeing where they bad guy was. I wish there was some sort of notification after which you could instruct your unit to fire at will or something. The bad guy AI is generally decent, with them running for cover, etc. In one scenario, I watched a dude drop to the ground, then crawl around the other side of a car, then re-emerge to try to shoot at me.The only other main complaint I have is that the deathmatch option only supports two people playing on one Xbox, as opposed to the four allowed by Halo. And I understand if you do a system link, it is only one person per box. Unfortunately I am living outside the US and don't have access to Xbox Live, but everything I have read says this game rocks when playing multiplayer online. It short, Ghost Recon has a few shortcomings, but the outstanding gameplay simply overrides all of that. This is one of the best game purchases I have made -- up there with Halo and Max Payne. I am a new convert to tactical shooters, and will definitely keep my eye on further Tom Clancy-tagged games and those from the wizzes at Ubi Soft. Read more ›

5 out of 5 stars Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
Lisa Shea

With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, squad based combat on the XBox lets you play through single player missions or take it online with XBox Live for up to 16 simultaneous players.Gameplay involves you running a team of up to 6 members. The team members can be snipers, foot soldiers, engineers, and more. As in Rainbox Six, you can build your teammates up through the levels so they can gain more skills. The single player missions are interesting, with landscapes varying from countryside to small towns to big city streets. You have to use stealth and strategy to achieve your objectives without dying or running out of ammo. Each teammate must use his strengths and help cover for each other's weaknesses. The graphics aren't exactly stunning - while the buildings have windows and doors drawn on them, for example, you can't shoot out the windows. It's more like they are giant squares with murals painting on them. On the other hand, the human bodies are extremely well done, with their movement and actions. The sounds are immersive and draw you in. There's background noises of wind and cars which can make it harder for you to hear the footsteps of your enemy ... or at times mask the noise of your own footsteps. If a loud noise happens near you, it gives the realistic temporary 'underwater' sensation as in real life.Single player is just practice for the real fun of Ghost Recon - XBox Live play. Unlike PS2 or Computer gameplay, with XBox Live you're guaranteed that other players all have a high speed (Cable Modem) connection speed. This means the lag you see in many other on line games is pretty much completely avoided. We play a ton of games on line and this is one of our current favorites. Recommended for XBox Live owners who enjoy team-based gameplay.

1 out of 5 stars READ PRODUCT DETAIL!.
Ashley

My husband and I both saw this item and got excited and forgot to read the detail. So it was our fault that we ordered a STICKER for 11.99 + 2.99 in shipping. Not sure why the seller would charge so much in shipping since it came in a regular envelope. Then again not sure why someone would sell this item at all, this is something you buy out of a quarter machine. Really disappointed Packers fan here! I will not make this mistake again!!

This arrived on time and was packaged well. The only issue I have is the picture is deceiving only one skin came and it's a little pricey for just one.

1 out of 5 stars Deadliest Catch : Sea of Dissapointment
R. Cosner

I don't usually review a game, but when I do, something important needs to be said.I was absolutely thrilled when I stumbled across a second Deadliest Catch game.Yes, the first attempt at a game was long, and tedious, but at least a somewhat accurate representation of the show and fishing in the crazy arctic ocean, I personally had no issues with it but those were the primary complaints of others. Which is more of what I was expecting from this one, maybe with some tweaks to gameplay to make it a little better. This game is basically 5 mini-games where you throw crab around, try to hit buoys with a hook, or run your ship through targets to "set your pots", totally lame.Maybe it would have been appropriate as an XBox Arcade title to download for 800 points, definitely not a full blown release. I mean really there is basically no game, its just the 5 mini games.I mean it should be relatively easy achievements but still, I was looking forward to driving my boat in crazy weather again. The only time you actually drive the boat is in that stupid "set" game where you aim it at little target rings. No ocean voyages, no docking the boat, basically nothing at all accurate in any way, shape, or form.Sorry Captains, but whoever told you that you needed to change the game to make it more "exciting and arcade feeling" was completely wrong. The simulation style of the first game was much, much cooler. This game is yet another testament to the continual "dumbing down" of the human species in general. If I could give it negative stars, I would.

3 out of 5 stars Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos
Roe

Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos - Compatible with MoveI expected more game play from the game. It seems to me like you repair the boat more then you go crabbing, which is not that much fun anyway it's all about connecting wires and it's not that realistic. There's no story to the game it's just the same stuff over and over again. On the other hand the movie that is on the disc is very good, very interesting.

1 out of 5 stars Game glitched!
Carl R. Montrosse Jr.

The game was a little more arcadish than "Alaskan Storm" but my copy seemed to hang up inexplicably at the sort table game. The hand would just disappear leaving you no way to grab the crab to sort them into their respective tanks. Too bad because I love the series and enjoyed Alaskan Storm despite the lengthy gameplay.

1 out of 5 stars Boring, seriously boring
PA Mom of 2

I was excited for this game. I have watched Deadliest Catch since it came out and this is my kind of game. I don't like shooter games, and prefer simulations that put you in control. Needless to say, I played this game exactly 1 time and that was enough for me. The graphics are poor, look like an old sega game. There are so many controls its impossible to remember them all. Lastly, you pretty much spent all your time doing things like plotting positions and "dropping pots" (don't let this deceive you, you just drive the boat so they can drop them). I drudged through the long tutorial and tried very hard to find something redeeming about this game but after about 1.5 hours I gave up and haven't played it since. Complete miss by Xbox.

I love these controller protectors because they help protect my $60 investment. No issues, fit snuggly and has a soft feel which is good for extended plays. Will purchase form this seller again. No issues at all.

J.C.

At first glance they looked cheap. After a few uses I found them to be comfortable. The back of the pair i received had ridges so the grip felt right. I would recommend these.

3 out of 5 stars The price was decent...
CJM

The only real detractor is that in order to use the stereo headset, I had to trim the skin using an X-acto, otherwise it wouldn't function. I don't know if that's the same case with the standard headset plug or not, but just something to keep in mind if you have a Turtle Beach/Tritton/Astro headset.

4 out of 5 stars Silicone Grip for Xbox One
Larry J. Cattaneo

very comfortable and makes for a less slippery grip on the Xbox One controller. would have liked it somewhat better if it fit the controller just a little more snugly. recommend it regardless.

3 out of 5 stars If Pure and Motorstorm had a love child.
W. freeman

Well i loved off road ATV games ever since the first ATV offroad came out for PS2 years ago. Ever since then a lot of companies have taken from the THQ formula to create there own, some with great success others to huge disasters. While Nail'd certainly won't win any awards for originality it sure is fun for those people who may not own a PS3, and may want a very mild taste of motorstorm. While its definitely NO Motrostorm it does have those types of qualities, the graphics, especially on the PC version look absolutely amazing. The crashes are pretty plain though along with no real psychics upon impact, just a quick NAIL'D that flashes on the screen much like Pure, and Fuel. From the Pure aspect its more like that game than any other, the environments are very well made, and the steering is spot on. Of course you have the usual mud flying up on the screen effect which has been used several times, also there is the much cliche'd boost, which reelly feels like a boost. You can do tricks but not nearly as many as some of the forementioned games. The pace is even quicker than some of the others and if you have a history of epilepsy you'd better pass on this one, no S$%T. So all in all its just another ATV game and a fun one at that, nothing really out of this world.I like the fact that it was cheap especially on PC, which is the version i have, i played a friends version on 360 and it still looks great although its 10 bucks more. So its a great game that will come and go, and definitely worth the price for a good passing time racing game. Much better than Fuel, which was horrid, and also much better than MX vs ATV Reflex which was the worst to date. So if you like face paced muddy fun give it a try, also i'm sure the price will drop in about a month or so, get yourself a used copy. There are lots of tracks, events and much fun to be had, just don't expect to be wooed, just have a a little fun. Also, The fun is the shear speed, insanely high jumps, and near misses that you have with objects (planes, hot air balloons, trains, trees etc.) to me its fun. 5 out of 5 stars Ridiculously fast ATV racing game
Nice

Let me just start by saying that I have never, ever played an ATV racing game before, so I cannot compare it to any other of these kinds of games. But as far as fun factor, this game is easily a 7-7.5 out of 10. I've seen some people say that this game isn't original, or that it copies different parts of different games and combines them into one package. Like I said I've never played those games, but this game is CRAZY! Imagine racing on an ATV, but you're going 200 miles per hour and the tracks are insane loops and jumps that no one could ever possibly survive in real life. The super fast racing actually gets my heart pumping and the hard rock soundtrack really feels like it goes with this type of game. I love the tracks that you race on, they are so insane and filled with different routes and obstacles that make for edge of your seat racing. Being able to customize your ATV with different parts that give you benefits like more acceleration or better handling is a nice extra. The only negatives I'd say about this game is that sometimes the same song seems to play over again while you are racing on a track, and the game seems a little short. Then again I might not have seen everything yet, but I'm about 1/3 through it with something like 15 hours played so far according to the on screen message that sometimes pops up about gameplay time. Other than that the AI could be a little tougher. But all in all this game is a lot of fun given the price. To wrap up I'd just like to say you don't have to like ATVs or even racing games to like this. If you like the sound of racing at Formula 1 speeds, but on an ATV through tracks with mind-boggling routes, obstacles, and jumps thrown in then do not hesitate to pick this little gem up.

5 out of 5 stars WOW factor 10
Inferno Nine

This game is crazy fun!! The closest to Motor Storm were gonna get on the Xbox 360. super fast crazy jumps awesome tracks the span from deserts to jungles from artic icy to greek ruins. the single player is set up kinda cheep theres this one screen that looks like a tounament bracket. Each place has several races and when you beat them it puts a yellow dot on top of the symbol on the grid. kind cheap but the races make up for it. thats what you want this game for anyway. sometimes it's so crazy it takes a few tries to learn the race. ie. theres this one track that you literly have to go off a gump and do a hairpin turn in the air took me awile to figure that out but after i did i became an amazing part of the race. only thing i really dont like is that when you mess up a part of a race and crash it puts you further ahead in the race. so you have to go around to it again on the next lap to learn what you did wrong. main thing is just to keep an eye out for tire tracks and the arrow signs around the tracks if you follow thoes you wont have a problem.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this game!
Mark R Tresidder

Poor graphics, hard to follow the tracks. The bikes and four wheelers handle poorly and the tracks are not very well designed. Play MX VS ATV till someone releases a GOOD replacement game.

4 out of 5 stars One of the most fun racing games i have played in a while!
Brendan

First off let me just say don't buy this game for the multiplayer. No one plays online at least on the 360. And no theres not a few people online theres 0. Yes i was kind of disappointed too but i got a few of my friends to buy it and its very fun. It has its bugs but only if you crash into walls purposely. This game is straight up fun. Most of the people who don't like it are the ones hoping for another Pure but this game is completely different. It comes with 12 maps 4 that come free as a dlc. (*THE DLC IS IN THE BACK OF THE MANUAL IN THE BOX THERE SHOULD BE A CODE*)The maps are well designed and are either 1 huge map where you start at the starting line and end at the starting line. Most people tend to like this the best but the other maps are 3 lap races which i love because most of my favorite maps are from there like Railroad. But anyways it comes with a very long Tournament that is a ton of fun. The dlc also includes a new gamemode called detonator which makes you have to pull off stunts in order to keep the bomb on the back of your quad from exploding and passing it to the next racer. Along with the gamemode the dlc includes a tournament with it. You can also create some of your on races when not playing tournament in a quick match style. If your hoping for there being tons of tricks your wrong. This game is based souly on getting turbos. I love these controller protectors because they help protect my $60 investment. No issues, fit snuggly and has a soft feel which is good for extended plays. Will purchase form this seller again. No issues at all.

4 out of 5 stars Good Buy

4 out of 5 stars Works very well.
Daniel McGuire

This is a very inexpensive alternative to buying the original Xbox One power supply. It works well and seems very sturdy and well built, but the fan inside is a little loud. The sound of the game/movie will drown the sound out and eventually you won't even notice it. I bought this for around $30, and controller for $40, and the Xbox One console only for $215. Spending $285 for my Xbox One was so much more affordable than the $500 price tag at the store.

1 out of 5 stars May as well stick a vine in your system.
Sherrie Hickman

This is a piece of s***. It doesn't work at all, don't waste your money on it. PIECE OF S***.

3 out of 5 stars good
Timothy Powell

Works well. May need to replace with a more heavy duty cord that plugs n2 the wall from the ac unit.

4 out of 5 stars It works and yes, it's loud.
J. Foreman

I took mine a part and it has a monster fan on it. With some tweaking I was able to quiet it some. If you are looking for a cheap replacement that works - and you don't mind tinkering with it or drowning out the sound - this is a good option for you.The noise itself is pure airflow. The fan moves so much air that is creates a steady wind type sound as it passes through the venting in the case.

2 out of 5 stars Quality issues. but decent product if your careful
Jeremy

Poor quality on the one that I received. While assembling this with the Kinect the spring snapped on me as I was trying to put it on the wall part. The is a little latch that now won't lock on the wall plate. But lucky for me that it didn't need to because the Kinect 2 doesn't move like the 1st one does. So this has held my Kinect on the wall for a few months and still goes strong as long as you don't touch the Kinect (you should have no need to).

5 out of 5 stars Does the job
rrlamichhane

It's cheap, simple, unobtrusive. This is what I want from simple products like this. Keep it simple, as long as it does the fine, I'm happy.

4 out of 5 stars Shamelessly undersupplied, but great product
A. Newell

Special controllers are almost necessary for playing SFIV with any degree of skill. This is the poor man's alternative to a fight stick, but it is certainly a great piece of hardware. The buttons are laid out well and the pad just feels great. After about a week or two of vigorous use however my right bumper stopped being as "clicky" as it used to be, but still functions great a month in.This also works for whatever else you might need for 2d fighters/old school games. Works in Windows and I use it quite frequently in the Gametap service to play all kinds of old classic arcade games.Definitely a great buy.

5 out of 5 stars These reviews are not about the product.
Han Solo

The two previous reviews have nothing to do with the product, so I felt a real review was in order. For those who own Street Fighter IV, these controllers are a must have. The directional joystick is much easier to use than the standard xbox 360 joystick. The real kicker for me is that they moved the RB and RT buttons to the front of the controller for the traditional street fighter layout. While it is a bummer that they are not wireless (damn you microsoft!), the 9' of cable was plenty for me to sit back on my couch and play comfortable without fear of pulling the controller out of the system. It's not impossible to use an original controller, but it much more fun and it's easier to use these. They feel very durable in my hands. If this review is not as indepth as you would like, take a look on bestbuy.com for example and read the reviews there. I do feel sorry for the people that have been put off by sellers on this website, but please use the feedback system to lodge your complaints.

5 out of 5 stars Better Than Expected...
E. Coleman

After reading the mixed reviews for this controller, mostly leaning towards negative. I decided to go for it anyway. I grew up playing fighting games with a D-Pad not a joystick or an analog stick. Sega Genesis and Sega Saturn D-Pad's to be exact. But the Official Xbox 360 Controller D-Pad is horrible in comparison to those. So I needed something to replace it. Basically just about any other 3rd party D-Pad for the 360 is going to be better. Thats how bad the official 360 controllers D-Pad is. So yes this controller has a nice D-Pad. When I want to go forward or back. It does it and nothing else. Up or down. It does that as I wanted. up & forward or up & backward. Also does it, no problem. Special Movies...much easier. I can't say its the greatest D-Pad in the world. But it is more then good enough to make an old school Genesis/Saturn player like me happy. The button layout is also nice for old school fans. Having the buttons laid out similiar to a Genesis/Saturn Controller or Arcade button layout. It works great. The buttons are slightly more springy which is good for fighting games. All the buttons and controls worked perfect for me. No delay, improper or unresponsive controls. I didn't have to mash them to make them respond nor did I lightly tap them and they responded too quickly. It felt just right in response. Comparable to an Official 360 Controller. This is also a great controller for any game that is on live arcade that you may be used to playing on a D-Pad. Sonic The Hedgehog games for instance. It works nicely. The pad gives turbo which is a cheat basically but it works nicely for people who enjoy that sort of thing and isn't hard to use. The pad has a switch on the lower back that lets you change the D-Pad to the Left 360 Analog Stick Control or Right 360 Analog Stick Control. This is a limited feature but it makes a few newer 360 games playable that might otherwise not be, if you want to use this controller for such games. But overall this controller is for fighting games and old school games. The overall layout of the controller felt very nice in my hands. The Street Fighter IV photo (Blanka in my case) looks very nice. The controller had a light rubberized grip on the back. Felt very comfortable in my hands. People with large hands, small hands or anything in between, shouldn't have a problem with it.But there is a few things one should know about this controller and understand first. Most games that use a 6 button layout such of Street Fighter II HD, Garou Mark Of The Wolves, Samurai Showdown II, etc. Will not automatically work with the controller. You'll need to manually map out the buttons. Usually by accessing the games settings screen. It's very easy to do and once you do it. Your playing the game like it should be played. No bumpers needed. Just a D-Pad and 6 buttons. Nice and simple. Street Fighter IV of course does worth perfectly with the controller from the start. It was afterall made for that game specifically. But most games which require six buttons will need to be manually set. The other issue is the controller does not feel very durable. After a few days of use, it still works fine for me. But it feels rather hollow. The build quality is certainly not that of an Official Xbox 360 Controller which feels strong in comparison. The final two things I should mention are not the controller makers fault, but something you should rememeber, it's not wireless and it doesn't have rumble. So keep that in mind. I got over both of those issues very quickly when I felt the nostalgia of playing games like I used to when I was younger. The old Genesis style controllers. I got that feeling back right away. The official 360 controller doesn't give off that feel for older games. And so I say, do not hesitate if your looking for a great controller for retro games, It works great, it looks great. It does exactly what I hoped it would do and more. Read more ›

4 out of 5 stars I like...
Potatoes

This controller is good. Feels light and a bit chincy when u 1st pik it up. had it a few months all the buttons still funtion. theres really not much of a choice when it comes to fight pads i find. only arcadesticks.I once had a six button sega genesis controller when SS2 first released...similiar but smaller than a sega saturn controller. Ideally, the six botton genesis contoller for my 360 would be great. At the moment this controller is the next best thing...

5 out of 5 stars Great Controller!
Oscar P. Hinojosa

I preordered this on the 10th of Feb and received it on the 25th. Not too sure what the deal is with the others, why they haven't gotten theirs.Needless to say, this controller is fantastic. The moves for SFIV are easy to pull off. Button layout is just like the old Saturn controller. It beats having to hit the triggers for the High Punch/Kick. The turbo feature is great too for other games.

3 out of 5 stars GOOD but not Great. Here is why SF fans..
Frank N Beans

BOTTOM LINE:If you're a SF die-hard but can't justify the stick prices this is your BEST (and only) solution for now. It is a good (but not great) SF pad that offers a lot more than a 360 pad but in the same breath leaves a lot to be desired.PRO|CON list. If you want the details behind my assessments then refer to the detailed explanations below.PROS:* 6 BUTTON LAY OUT* WEIGHT, GRIP & CONTOUR.* 2 SPEED TURBO FEATURECONS:* D-PAD FUNCTIONALITY* BUMPER QUALITY | NO TRIGGERS* NO WIRELESSDEBATABLE:* PRICE TAGHere's why in DETAIL:*6 BUTTON LAYOUT.This is extremely relieving after developing fricking arthritis from my 360 controller. The Size, Spacing and Depression of these buttons are great.* WEIGHT, GRIP & CONTOUR.The pad is VERY light, feels like a piece of Styrofoam in your hands. The rubber side grips are very helpful for maintaining control and the contour of the pad feels great. (Keep in mind I have big hands so historically this has been a gripe for me.)*2 SPEED TURBO.I never really used this feature in past pads, but for those of you who like "scrubbing" down your opponents with cheezy Honda slaps, Blanka voltages and BS Ken/Ryu crouch kicks & jabs - YOU will NOT be disappointed! This feature is brutal, works flawless and comes with 2 speed options.CONS:*D-PAD:My biggest let down! After using it's DP for a few hrs, regretfully I must say I was unimpressed. I can't count how many times I *intended* on jumping forward or backwards and ended up just jumping straight up and getting owned by the mistake. One compliment, executing uppercuts and fire balls is very easy, almost TOO easy which is a bad thing if that's not the move you meant to do.I had high expectations for this feature. Sure it beats the hell out of the 360's DP and analog, but for those of you who were broken-in on the SNES and SATURN DP - I feel your pain.* CRAP BUMPERS NO TRIGGERS:Some people may not care about triggers, but having that additional feature for EX Charges, Throws and Ultra Combos is one feature on the 360 I grew to like. All the other MKs 360 pads have it, why not here? The bumpers are crap, they have poor button depression and feel very "plastic-clicky".* NO WIRELESS:Not the end of the world, but when you're shelling out more cash for a corded pad than an actual wireless 360 controller. Seriously.* PRICE TAG:Is it worth $60+ Bucks? Mmmm debatable. Right now because of supply and demand I guess you can't be anal about this. 3-6 mos from now when MK supply is in abundance and competitor pads | sticks are also available? Most likely NOT worth the present price tag.ADVISE:Unfortunately Mad Katz's controllers have never been known for stellar quality to say the least, but you get what you pay for right? If available BUY the replacement policy! It's worth the extra 10 bucks! I know Best Buy offers one and I believe a few of the Amazon suppliers do also.MY 2 CENTS:Negative reviews based on "screw-jobs" by suppliers have zero relevance to the performance of a fight pad. This logic baffles me. Read more ›
