4 out of 5 stars Complex and fun tactical JRPG.

This is quite a fun game. The mechanics may take a little getting used to, but once everything clicks it is an enjoyable ride. The limited edition features are very well done and quite extensive. I recommend this game to those seeking out an enjoyable tactical experience.

This game is one of the best strategic RPGs I've ever played. It requires the player to take their time and delicately balance out their characters with upgraded weapons, enhanced skills, and even (or uneven) stats. The plotline is intriguing and the jokes are often hilarious. In many strategic RPGs I find myself level grinding in one exact area for a set period of time before I'm strong enough to move on, slaying the same monster over and over again. This game has an extensive map that grows with the conversations that you have with your party members. The gameplay itself requires logical thinking and strategy (because it IS a strategic RPG, you know.), something that other games lack. As for graphics, this game doesn't push the limit, but the designers clearly know that there are much more important things than being as showy and shallow as games such as Call of Duty, and Halo. It's in standard strategic RPG format, and I love it. Until now, all strategic RPGs were on handhelds, and it got a little tiring. This is NOT a game that you can blow through in one night. This game DOES require you to actually enjoy the game you're playing instead of just mindlessly killing drones and copies of monstes with terrible AI systems.

4 out of 5 stars Amazing limited edition.

This is my 3rd favorite limited set of any games so far. I love the cards that came with it; and also the small guide. The guide helped a lot more then i thought it would. the art book is not bad either. The game reminds me of the old Finalfantasy series.

5 out of 5 stars Thanks for the game

4 out of 5 stars Nice characters but boring combat stages.
John Hanson IV

I really like the characters but the battles are boring to go through over and over again. The tactics in this game are more about lining people up for combo attacks more than anything. I'll have warriors in the back facing away from the enemies for instance just so they can trigger somebody else. (The game mechanics allow you to use all your characters on one turn if you line them up right but usually only on one enemy.) I do enjoy the game but I have to play in shifts because the battles while difficult are repetitive. Sometimes I just put it on auto and let the game play for me but only when it's safe. As for the extras that come with the limited edition they're pretty nice and even useful in planning out character growth though this information can be found online by now. Also I'm new to the series but where the first game had five generations to go through this game only has two, you can however play through the first game's story as a bonus but the experience I'm told is more stream lined and you can't choose who you marry. (Think of it as a recap of the first game.)

5 out of 5 stars Excellent game

I'm still playing the game and will review game play later. So far this is an excellent turn based game. Character development is fun and there are lots of items. The Limited Edition is very nice. The playing cards have character profiles on Ace through King but not on 2 through 10. I was disappointed in the soul cards because the soul types are missing from the cards. The character book is nice. It includes the character ability rankings for the profiles.Overall this is a nice limited edition of a fun game.
