5 out of 5 stars Superior (For its time)
Kelu

Before XBox 360 and PS3, this game was the very best (simulation) racing game available. It's not an arcade game. It's fast. It's fun. There's loads of customization. There's lots of tracks. It's not easy, though, and even with the difficulty on easy, winning a race with a car equivalent to your opponents is a challenge. (It was for me, anyway...)

Steve S.

I bought this game to finish off the series, but it was actually pretty good. Even for the age of the game it still outdoes the original project gotham racing, and its just a lot more fun to play.

5 out of 5 stars highly recommended
videogamemaniac

A great family friendly and fun game for all ages, would highly recommend. It is the best racing game ever, multiplayer for 2 players!

3 out of 5 stars Good start to a mixed series
B. Eckert

First, this game had some awesome features when it first came out. It had some innovative things that other games didnt have yet. But at the same time flaws. The tires didn't feel right or natural in this game, but other stuff fell together to help it up a bit.Great car upgrade system, money system alright. The amount of cars to choose from is fairly good. And Track selection is pretty cool. All in all if you got a Xbox360 just get Forza 3. It has more cars, upgrades, tuning options, and tracks.

5 out of 5 stars Love This Game

It is the original Forza! Who doesn't love it? The line on the ground is the best, I don't care what these super racing gamers say. I hated these games until the line.

Thanks for this game! I have played it pretty much everyday since I received it! Great graphics and good times playing! Thanks again

Thomas Williams

I LOVE FORZA! This is a great racing game especially if you don't want as much of a "simulator" feel like Gran Turismo. The car selection is great. The only catch is that since I'm not a huge gear head and so there are some things that go over my head such as the fine tuning options but that's a minor thing that you never have to deal with if you don't want to.

5 out of 5 stars Great Shipping!
juprob

Shipping was great. Came on time. Tracking was awesome. And this version of Forza is completely different from all the others Forza. I love a Forza greatly but this one I think was the build from what the developers knew to make better from. I popped it in and maybe played it for 20mins.

Japanese DDRer

Let me write here and I think it would be helpful so review (but of course) English only.It is a review for those who have lived in Japan for us, that, I want you to ship to Japan. It is the flow of the ship from the first order, while they also took several hundred dollars just another controller carriage, for the U.S. Amazon will do the shipping, this controller requires only about 1000 yen.I was able to get this controller so in about 18000 yen. Were to be with, take about 4 days to 2 weeks to arrive from the ship, the goods arrived in 5 days from order.Ease of purchase, I truly think Amazon.Thoughts as a controller.I'm playing with Stepmania connected to the PC. (The judgment is easier to fit)Therefore, delay, etc. I do not know.Reaction of the panel itself and you can enjoy a comfortable DDR without well, slipping out just freeze arrow. The reviews often feel that you step on, sinking, feeling like stepping crawl to a feeling that the switch is attached to the base or to.However, in order to grasp so sensuously whether or not this is in stepping are stepping in reverse, it is incredibly easy to play.without moving the controller for the back is machined entirely non-slip, even stepped on Lv17, etc. For the purpose of the current table difficulty, play the music mad comfortable. However, because you just hooked a leg injury to this screw pile of screws that secure the panel is large, and do it barefoot, shoes it is mandatory.Because the skin of the sole of the foot is stiff, his Although not hurt, especially AC so playing barefoot regularly, and I do it and be cut definitely towards the ordinary and do it barefoot. If you want to do with barefoot is recommended that as a measure, replace the screws, etc. purchased at home centers ultra low head screws 5mm.No longer caught in this, I can with confidence slide step.I thought that the beginning is painful and there is no bar Naa, the accuracy of the score of AC is far better off now I will go up if you do DDR accustomed to at home without bar. Please try not hesitate and buy all means those who are, I think I want to do a DDR perfectly at home. 4 out of 5 stars Overall, worth the money
Leah

I bought one of these Dance pads after doing tons of research. It came in the mail very quickly (though I bought from step2ddr, not amazon). There is a connector box that goes between the pad and the system for some reason that has the "start" and "select" buttons on it. This is the only stupid feature about the product. It has caused the pad to short out a couple times. My SO and I play very heartily on this pad (about 2.5 hours a day since June 1) and it is sturdy enough to handle our constant barrage of steps. The buttons work great in terms of sensitivity! There has been no cracking on the arrows, the sensor zone is large, and the sunken arrows really create an ease of play. You must wear shoes for this pad or you will hurt yourself!UPDATE: It's been about 6 months of owning the dance pad, and a week ago, one of the buttons finally cracked. This hasn't affected gameplay at all, but if it ever did, you can purchase new ones (they're easily removeable). The pad will short out from time to time, but that happens to me a lot less than it does to my SO - maybe it's a weight thing. It's corrected by disconnecting and reconnecting the cables. If I didn't own this pad, I wouldn't be nearly as good at DDR as I am now. It's very fun and pretty, and I'm proud to own it. There's no feeling like being able to play DDR on a hard pad every day for as long as you want without having to pay. It's well worth the initial money, and the small issues are pretty standard on many gaming items. I have a feeling I'd still be shelling out $20-50 every few weeks or months if I continued to try to use the soft/semi-hard pads.

3 out of 5 stars requires routine maintenance
rahul

i couldn't get my hands on a cobalt flux so i went with this pad instead:* three weeks in and the right arrow started to malfunction. i got it working again by removing the panel (four screwed brackets) and cleaning the sensor surface.* four weeks later the same thing happened to the up arrow. same problem, same solution.* four more weeks and the down arrow stopped working. i had to add some sheet metal under the panel to get the sensor to start registering again (the trick was that one end had to remain in contact with the metallic frame).so the sensor design is rubbish (copper plated, activated by foil under the panels), but i think the sheet metal solution (26 gauge, $5 at home depot) will hold up and i plan on redoing all the sensors this way if/when they break down.other than that the pad is decent:* it moves a little bit on carpet but nothing worrisome.* the select and start buttons are located on the control box rather than the pad.* the arrows don't light up when you step on them.their website indicates no refunds after 30 days and their tech. support is exactly as useless as you can imagine so be prepared to DIY if you want to get your $230 worth. bottom line is that i would now go with one of the $150 pads instead of this one since i believe they use the same sensor design and would require the same level of maintenance.

3 out of 5 stars Asinine engineering, but fixable.
Holonet

Like others, I agree this pad is pretty good with modifications. I'll just list the design flaws first. The buttons are far too insensitive. It works by the plastic buttons flexing and the travel distance is too far, which is probably also a contributor to them cracking as has happened to some. Also, the foil adhered to the button to make the electrical contact with the sensor is, indeed, nearly worthless. It will wear or bunch up very quickly. The wire used to go to the sensor pads is very flimsy. After a week or so, I already had one break at the solder joint. Further, this could have been avoided by having them contact the side of the sensor instead of soldered on top, where they take some physical abuse from stomping. This is dismaying because it is not a cost issue, but a stupidity issue. I should add that the pad boasts of being capable of taking 600 lbs, and these flaws were evident with me and my friend, and both together, we would probably be about 380. One last thing--the middle of the pad and the corner buttons/platforms are too high. The company brags about "recessed" buttons so you can feel them. This is silly. The buttons are easy to detect regardless, and the raised metal makes for getting in the way of your foot pressing down, and even hurting it if your foot steps partly on the button, and partly on the adjacent platform. This is yet another example of something that really shouldn't be wrong with it because it would cost nothing for them to be lower (in fact, would be less material)...just complete devoid of intelligent design.Anyhoo, the fixes. The sheet metal remedy otherwise referred to seems to be pretty good, except I actually ended up using 2 layers of the 26 gauge. 1 layer was still too insensitive for me, making the very difficult songs sure to miss notes. I ended up using brass, just because it's more corrosion resistant and a good conductor. 2 layers of it, cut in the exact shape of the sensor/foil backing, and I used contact cement to stick the layers together and to stick the metal to the button (after peeling off the cheap backing from the button). Epoxy will surely do the job if something stronger is needed. With this modification, the buttons work quite well, and the travel distance is greatly reduced, so it should also theoretically make a large decrease in the chance of the button deforming and/or cracking. I will say it doesn't seem to be perfect. There's a rare occasional note rip-off, sometimes when coming off the button, but I think that could be further amended with extending the foam under the buttons a little closer to the sensor (so part of the metal isn't touching in some random spot as the button is released--it needs to come up all at once). Side note--I recommend using a Dremel with the heavy duty cutting wheels (I went through 2 of them for this project) to cut the sheet metal, so you don't deform the factory flatness. If the solder connection breaks, it can be resoldered, of course, but it's also simple to take some very thin brass (like on the sensor), and extend both poles of the circuit off to the side of the sensor pad, and solder to the side if to prevent it from repeat offenses. All the metal can be ordered online, of course. As for the platforms, for the middle one and the two back ones, I unscrewed the metal covers, and used a planer to take off about 3/16" on them. I have a nice Dewalt hand planer which did most of it, and a chisel to get at the corners where I couldn't plane. This wasn't too tough work, because it's composite crap wood, but one must be careful to do the job evenly.Remaining were the two buttons on top, which were too high and slightly in the way, just as the 3 inert platforms. These cannot be planed down because they are functioning buttons, not just wood. Fortunately, under the metal covers, there is a cardboard spacer inserted into it (with glue). The cardboard is about the same thickness as the amount shaven down, so it works out to remove them, and add a piece of sheet metal just as was done on the arrows (one or two here...doesn't matter much, but I used 2) to take up the travel that will still be there. Removing the cardboard isn't too tough if you have the tools. First, lay the button, face side down on something reasonably flat, and taking a chisel, carefully dig away a hole in the cardboard as a starting point. The glue is a bit stubborn. Be careful here or you will dent the metal. I had a paint removing heat gun...and my friend held it with oven mitts and heated the button from the top side, while I used the chisel to pull away from the aforementioned hole. You need to use the chisel (or whatever) to physically cut the stretchy strands of glue, but it will eventually come off without too much trouble. Then, cementing in a bit of sheet metal, the button works with a light press. It would work without it, but it might deform the metal button, and you otherwise have to press down a bit roughly. So in short, if you have the tools I used, you might pay a modest amount more in materials to do this. I would still rather take a day and so modify this pad than spend the rather painful amount of money on one of the beastly full arcade pads, but boy, is it a fine example of how to do something badly.I did find another option, but I don't have a welder so I didn't entertain it...but if you want something done right, do it yourself :-D ===> Go to google Ultimate DDR Pad and go to the inventgeek site -- Amazon doesn't seem to like links) Read more ›

2 out of 5 stars Horrible DRM, buy steam version instead
Ben

I preordered this game through Amazon, which does not in fact give you a steam code, but a code to use through telltale's website. Nonetheless I was excited to play it as soon as it came out, so i downloaded it off the telltale website. The authentication as soon as you start the game requires you to make and sign in with a telltale account, but there have been HUGE server issues, which leaves me with no game to play for a second day now as the game can't connect to telltale's servers to authenticate a game i preordered. Support of the telltale forums has said to just be patient, but I find it unacceptable that people on Steam have already been playing since yesterday and pirated copies have already made their way around. I'll update when the issues are fixed but for now AVOID THIS VERSION

5 out of 5 stars This Sorrowful Life
Sky

Disclosure: Played as a PSN downloadTellTale has done it again! The Walking Dead Season 2 is an extension of the awesome 5 part series that was Season 1 which was a story arc to the popular comic book series. This game is for and will AGIAN be loved by--and loved by is a guarantee, graphic novel readers--any true fan of Robert Kirkman's source material. Anyone looking to run and gun down zombies will not get that out of this game. You certainly don't have to have read the book or have seen the AMC TV show to enjoy this game; just be sure that you are planning to get into and be part of a story-rich experience..You start the game pretty much where Season 1 left off, but this time you play as Clementine (the little girl that you took care of as Lee in Season 1). You don't have to have played Season 1 to enjoy and get into Season 2, but I would highly recommend it, 1) For perspective sake, and 2) Because your decision choices in Season 1 (and 400 Days) are carried over (optionally) into Season 2.Right from the get-go Clem is thrown into a chaotic journey by herself to find other survivors. There are plenty of action sequences, but your time in this game (just like the first) is mostly spent literally being a part of the story making some tough (and some not so tough) decisions. It's the tough decisions that will affect how the rest of the game unfolds for you, and you'll have to live with the consequences of every option you choose. The game does give you the option of "rewinding" back to a specific checkpoint, and you can go forward from there and choose a different option that overwrites your original decision if that's your style. But I don't do that. The game gives you three save slots, so I'd prefer a complete reply in a new save slot. I've already played through the first episode twice. I tried to make Clem call "the right move" when presented with choice; but there is a time limit when decision time comes, and sometimes you may regret a hasty decision. For example, in just Episode 1 you'll have to choose taking one route versus another, and by the end of the game and choosing both routes in two separate playthroughs I'm not sure that I made the "right" choice either way. The game certainly gets an A for replay value.Just as in the graphic novel (and the TV show), the story is much less about zombies and more about what happens to society, its morals, laws and standards when government is lost and the planet becomes mostly uninhabitable. But this time you don't just watch it unfold on paper or on your TV screen; in this game you're part of the story...you control your integrity, your morality and ultimately your destiny. And there's real, heartfelt emotion in The Walking Dead games combined with very believable scenarios. You will be emotionally affected by this game, and if you aren't, well then you've got ice in your veins just like some of the characters in this story. The Walking Dead game is excellent...especially for just a point and click. It's as gritty and graphic as the comic book, and it's very story-rich. If you read the comic as I do...you'll love it. The graphics are appropriately very comic-bookesque. I really do feel like I'm part of a different story arc in the freakin' book! The first episode only took about an hour an a half to get through which is relatively short compared to the individual episodes of Season 1 or the 400 Days arc. But the length of the episode is made up for by terrific storytelling and an emotionally memorable episode. The Walking Dead game is a deep, personal and emotional adventure that will leave you looking for more. 5 out of 5 stars Wow, STILL Waiting...
Richard Pascual

This season started out awesome with episode one... There have been some great improvements to the user interface as a game product: the integrated mini-games and challenges and a deepening appreciation for the gutsy survivalist packed into our tiny heroine. It's only the wait between Episodes 1 and 2. It has literally been several weeks and there isn't even a peep of a press release, tweet or otherwise to hint when (IF?) the next installment for our game will hit their download servers. I worry that I'll lose the edge of enthusiasm as the plot from our current episode slips from my short term memories...

2 out of 5 stars Telltale DRM isn't working
Westoncito

This game is downloaded via Telltale's DRM/ Website. As of right now it's not currently working. I would recommend anybody look else where until this is working. I had written a more detailed review but Amazon.com rejected it and won't post it. I feel morally obligated to let others know that (at this time) it is not a viable place to purchase the second season of the Walking dead telltale game. I will update this when Telltale gets their website working. For now consider holding off or looking elsewhere.Edit: Well since the DRM hasn't been working Amazon made an one-time exception and rescinded their no refund policy on this item, considering the circumstances. I have decided that I will purchase this game after all of the season is released and the game is fixed. I'm disappointed in Telltale (With their DRM for PC) dropped the ball on this one. Many other options are available, such as Xbox, PS3, Steam, etc. Thank goodness for Amazon realizing that Telltale was at fault here and refunding my purchase of a game that couldn't be played.

2 out of 5 stars 1 1/2 months with no episode 2.
TomSkirrett

Today's date is January 30th, 2014 and episode one came out December 17th 2013.I love this game, but creating an episodic game like this should only be done if the developer is prepared to keep a schedule to release episodes on a somewhat regular basis. If Telltale was not prepared to release season 2 but wanted to give a holiday treat to fans they should've released an episode that was not intended to kick-off a second season but instead act as a stand-alone episode with a hint at where season 2 will take us. It's painful to check up on the game week after week and see no new content, I feel like Telltale has left us hanging.I highly recommend getting this game on Steam or PSN once the season has been fully released. At this pace that could be sometime around September 2014.

5 out of 5 stars More to it than "zombies"
David

I played through all of season 1 of The Walking Dead along with the 400 days DLC. It was one of the most satisfying and tear jerking games I have ever played. I don't think I can even call it a game, its more of an interactive, choose your own adventure type story. Anyway I have played through the first episode of season 2 and it definitely satisfied my thirst for more Walking Dead. I will say the first episode is a bit short (around 2 hours long) but I expected that. Without giving too much away, episode 1 is the table setter for what is sure to be an emotional season 2. Episode 1 is just as, if not, darker than any episodes of the series. Clementine, this season's protagonist, is put in some of the most disturbing and gut wrenching situations in her test of survival the series has ever seen. If you have not played season 1 I STRONGLY RECOMMEND playing through the first season as Telltale has promised that our decisions from that season will carry over into this one. Don't go in expecting to be knocked off your feet in "All That Remains", but don't discount the rest of the season if episode 1 isn't to your liking. I'll update my review as I play through the rest of the episodes.

Matthew T. Mccracken

This is not an XBOX s-type controller. Do not let the picture fool you because they will send you a YOBO gameware controller. I have never even heard of YOBO and it is ridiculous to call it an s-type. This place ripped me off and I just want to prevent others from being fooled.

Mack

Yea, if it's not the namebrand version of the controllers it probably wont last too long...sneakers can be made in a sweat shop...but controllers made in sweat shops dont last long at all...you need to invest in a controller, or be prepared to put out more money for a new one soon

1 out of 5 stars Never Purchase Anything from "Classic Game Source." Ever.
George C.

I bought two of these awful controllers online. Both showed up broken, one having a problem with the right joystick (it just hung like a limp noodle) the other having a problem with a sticking D pad (the up direction sticks badly). I returned the first controller before noticing the problem with the second, and when I received my replacement controller in the mail, guess what? It was broken too! The D pad on this one sticks badly on the left direction. You may press a direction 5 or 6 times before the controller responds. That's 3 controller orders, all 3 of which were broken! So if anything else, Classic Game Source has a very consistent record for failure.Count on it, whatever you get from these guys will break, and you'll be left holding the bag. Spend your money and see for yourself. I ordered another Xbox product from them, a DVD viewing remote, that simply hasn't arrived though I ordered it 3 weeks ago. When I contacted Classic Game Source about it, they said "take it up with your postman." If you want your money to go toward broken electronics made in China, poor customer service, and a company with a generally bad attitude, buy something from Classic Game Source.

J. Salfarlie

This controller is NOT made by microsoft!! The right thumbstick is messed up and the logo was already coming off when i got it the face buttons are fine and if you dont have to click the thumbstick then its an ok controller

1 out of 5 stars Broken
Chris Graham

The controller was broken, it sounded like a rattle. The box was not damage nor was the packaging material, had to heve been broken before it was shipped.

1 out of 5 stars Two of the three I purchased are broken!
Laura Lance

I didn't fully inspect them when I received them, I just wrapped them and today I have to very disappointed children!

2 out of 5 stars One was broken
Josh Jacobs

One of the two controllers I ordered did not function. So it looks like I'll be playing alone for a while.

1 out of 5 stars pffft
Jon Hartwein

Shipping cost more than the controller. The thing broke after three days. I'd say go ahead and buy one but only if you do not intend to actually use it.

4 out of 5 stars Decent Soft Pad
Pecos Bill

Seems like a decent soft pad, although it wouldn't kill them to put some velcro strips on the bottom. The foam padding seems more suited to a hardwood floor than carpet. I have to rearrange the pad after every dance because while it doesn't move to any unsafe degree, it will slowly migrate across a carpet. Also, the center feels the same as the buttons, so in the more hectic dances you have no way of feeling where your feet are (with some of the more expensive pads, you can feel the buttons with your feet and know where you are).Still, I have no trouble with the responsiveness and didn't really see a soft pad that looked to be better. My suggestion: start with something like this (the game I got did not come with any pad, so I bought this one) and if you feel the DDR craze, pony up the cash for a hard, arcade quality pad and keep this one for when the guests come over.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible quality, unresponsive company.
W. Bumgarner

I purchased this pad and the down arrow stopped registering within 3 days. I contacted the company and was promised a callback. No callback, no contact. The combination of a poor quality product and an unresponsive company means that I will never buy another product from this company again.

4 out of 5 stars Great Mat But Get One On eBay!
M. Boone

This mat is great for beginners. It won't last too long for advance users but this mat is a great way for a beginners to learn how to play. Some people recommend duct tapping plywood on the bottom of the mat some it responds better, but if you get a mat anywhere, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND getting one on eBay. Usually, they are brand new and factory sealed. They usually come in a sets of two (one for you and a friend) and sell for about $8.50 like this one (either in XBox or PS2) and $15.95 for shipping (The Buy It Now price on eBay is usually $8.50 but you can still bid on it to save a couple of bucks). Shipping for these mats on amazon.com are $4.49 for 3-5 day shipping and $8.98 for two day shipping so you still come out ahead on eBay. I got a mat that retails for $130 (its sort of like the mat that sells for $99 here; its more expensive because it has extra padding and it will last longer) for $20 and $25 dollar shipping. For hardcore fans who really got some moves and play the DDR games a lot, eBay has the metal dance mats with the bar (looks exactly like the one in the arcades) for about $150 (not including shipping). Otherwise, this is an awesome mat but if you want to save money and get one for when a friend comes over, get one on eBay (if you get one on eBay, search ddr or search ddr extreme).

4 out of 5 stars A good pad
A. Jimenez

This pad will get the job done for DDR Ultramix. The buttons are sensitive enough for the game and it has a decent amount of padding. It's very similar to the soft Konami pad that came bundled with DDR Ultramix. However, there are a few cons to the pad. First, it's recognized as a regular controller on Xbox Live. Also, the ports at the top of the pad do not support the headset (which the Konami pad does). It will only take memory cards. So if you want to play online, you are better off with the Konami pad that came with the game (which you cannot buy more of). However, these are great for extra pads when you have friends over. Personally, I bought two of them so I could then "mod" them by giving them a hard cover. I did this with plexiglass squares and a hardboard. Directions to do this can be found with a search for "DDR Chubby Pad" on the internet.I came out with two really nice pads that will last a long time.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible!! Big Waste of Money
Jack Orwell

I am a big DDR fan, and was very dissapointed with this mat. On the third day of recieving, my down arrow was broken, and Naki's telephone and website are out of service. My friend owns a Konami mat, and they are very good, but I have to save up for one, which is a pain. That might sound sad, but I am only 14 and they cost 50 bucks!

1 out of 5 stars 3 faulty pads in a row
Brian K. Roberts

Within a couple weeks the down arrow started failing. Amazon quickly replaced the pad with the same results. Then we had to return the 3rd pad for the same reason. Something is seriously wrong.

1 out of 5 stars not money well spent
Stacy McMahan

This pad works great for a couple hours, and, just like everyone else, the down arrow stops registering. Don't waste your money on this pad. I am so mad that I didn't read the reviews before buying this product. Also, you can't feel with your feet whether you're stepping on an arrow or another button. And, where are the lights? Oh, and Naki's phone number and website are out of service. I'm not buying a Naki product again.

1 out of 5 stars No Good
Amazon Customer

I bought this pad for my daughter with her new XBOX and DDR software. The pad died in two hours. The back arrow wouldn't work anymore. I pulled out the instructions and it said to contact nakiusa.com - When I entered the website I received a page that said my account was suspended per an earlier email!!! What account? What email. I've never heard of this company until Christmas! I saw Naki's US address is on the west coast near where I live so I looked up their number through an on-line yellow pages site and called the number - guess what it is no longer in service. End of the road for Naki. End of the road for me and this product. We upgraded to a $99 product from RedOctane - unfortanately that one quit after two days! Wish I had better reviews and luck. Good luck!

3 out of 5 stars Xbox 360 headset
Cosmic Jester

The thing that sold me on this headset is the flat design of the cord. I have had trouble in the past with round cords fraying too easily. The flat design of the headset cord makes it so it doesn't fray easily. also the split design of the headset and leatherette ear cup make for a more comfortable fit for long term use. This item should have been a stereo headset.

1 out of 5 stars Well it was great while it lasted.
Null

I was under the impression that this headset would work. I was wrong, It worked for about 0.00 seconds out of the box. Probably just a bad pair but Im not going to buy this product again.

4 out of 5 stars great headset for smaller heads
thejake

i ordered these as a means to an end headset and surprisingly they are really nice they arrived promptly and are really easy to hear the chat but they are definately for smaller heads because these headsets squeeze the dog s@#t out of my head they work for a means to an end headset or if you need them for teen and children but for big headed people dont get them they are very restraining on my head

4 out of 5 stars Buy it if you love Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer! Remarkably high quality third-party controller
EVO X Driver

After using the Mad Catz Modern Warfare 2 XBOX 360 controller (camo color) almost non-stop since Modern Warfare 2 released, I can say that I am happy with it overall. If you're a big fan of Modern Warfare 2, and can see yourself logging a ton of hours into the game, I can recommend the purchase. It comes with a bonus "combat case" that is basically a plastic case for the controller - not very useful. It is possible to buy these controllers at Walmart without the combat case, for $5 cheaper (do it). If you already have plenty of 360 controllers, or are not a HUGE fan of the multiplayer, you should probably put your $50 towards another game, like the upcoming Left 4 Dead 2 or Assassins Creed 2. Even though I have a lot of cons below, I think the pros are mighty significant, and enough to give the controller 4 stars.PROS+This is the coolest looking controller I have ever seen. I has an awesome digital camo color on the front with a Modern Warfare 2 logo on top, and gray on the back. I dont care for the "snow" color, but I love the camo color. And as another nice touch - when the controller is on, the analog sticks have a nice green backlight to them.+It has "soft feel" plastic all around, so it feels great in your hands. The sides of the controller, where your palms are when you're holding it, have a grippy rubber material. It helps prevent the controller from slipping when your hands are sweating. Modern Warfare 2 is so intense, you will be sweating.+The overall feel, build quality, materials, and presentation are great.+There are 2 "combat" buttons on the back of the controller. The left combat button can be programmed to activate the left stick button, B, or A. The right combat button can activate RSB, X, or Y. I have the left combat button set to change my stance, and the right combat button set for reloading. This is an excellent idea, and it is nice to see some third party companies come up with some custom controller ideas for consoles. I hope a lot more custom controllers become available in the coming years.CONS-The biggest con: this controller is WIRED! Why on Earth would a controller for this generation of consoles would anyone be manufacturing a wired controller?! I was shocked when I first read about the controller. I am guessing Microsoft had some legal/proprietary issue with it, as the Modern Warfare 2 controller for PS3 is wireless. If the price were lower, I might be ok with this as I dont need to bother with recharging a battery, and the cord is very high quality and nylon-braided.-The controller will cost $50 at a major retailer like Best Buy or Gamestop. As I stated above, if the controller were wireless I would be able to justify the cost. A wired controller for $40 is tolerable.-This controller is made by Mad Catz, which has made some crummy third party peripherals before. Who knows if the analog sticks will start to wear out and become less precise, or the triggers wont work properly, or some other problem will arise months from now. The OEM 360 controller from Microsoft is so well constructed and durable. They last for years. Only time will tell how long this Mad Catz product will last, even though it seems to be very high quality.-The controller feels a bit cramped and awkward with exteneded use. Maybe my hands are so used to the standard 360 and PS3 controllers, that any other design is just foreign to me. I dont mind the ergonomics of the controller, and after almost a week I have become used to the feel of the controller. But, I can see how some people would say the controller doesnt feel right in their hands.-The triggers are pistol-grip style, meaning they are a little shorter and wider than the standard 360 controller's. I didnt like this at first because I thought my fingers would slip off of the triggers. So far, I havent had that problem. When you are moving your fingers quickly enough between the triggers and bumpers, your fingers might miss the triggers occassionally.-I really dont like the design of the left and right bumpers. They are a much bigger, and completely flat, compared to the standard 360 controller. They also take a bit more force to "click" them. When I am trying to quickly throw a stun grenade around a corner where an enemy is hiding, or trying to quickly throw a Semtex (sticky) grenade at a guy with a riot shield, I feel like I have to be more deliberate and careful with my button press with my index finger.-The combat buttons are too small, and tucked to far away into the ergonomic creases on the back of the controller. I dont find myself using the left combat button very often because of this. I do use the right combat button to reload every time. I dont find my thumbs leaving the analog sticks as often because of this, so the combat buttons are still useful, but could be dramatically improved. Thanks for reading! Read more ›

2 out of 5 stars Some good ideas, but REALLY bad implementation..
A. Utley

Hmm. I gotta tell you, I really wanted to like this controller. I really, really did. The mapping or the sprint and reload functions to extra buttons on the back is a great idea. Unfortunately, however, MadCatz implementation of this idea is a cheap, flimsy cash-in that you will be ultimately unhappy with.Let me start with the good points (and there are only a couple), to get them out of the way. The "combat buttons" on the back are just a fantastic idea. They let you choose from some rather limited mapping options for some new buttons intended to be manipulated by your middle fingertips. I don't make much of an issue of the limitations to the mapping because, well, nobody has done it before and almost everyone that I can think of wouly map sprint to the left button (LB) and either reload (X) or switch weapons (Y) to the other. Being able to do all of these things without mucking up what you are doing with the sticks would have been great, but we will get to why it is not.Second, the material it is made of is phenomenal. It is super comfortable and the raised grips on the sides give the controller a nice tactile feel and are not slippery at all, like the MS controllers tend to get.Third, they look really cool. The backlighting and camo pattern is really slick. Now, ON TO THE BAD!!!First and foremost, the ergonimics are ATROCIOUS!!! It is so diffucult to manipulate the "combat buttons" that any benefit derived from their existance is completely outweighed by their difficulty of use. The L and R shoulder buttons are very difficult to get to. A huge hassle since the MS controller has them essentially resting under your finger and need only a slight roll or your knuckle to work. The wrist angle is all wrong. When you are using this controller you will feel like it wants your wrists to move in ways they should not. It is very uncomfortable once you have to start pressing buttons.Second, the whole thing feels cheap. The D pad is muddy and has no tactile response at all. The triggers have not near enough travel or spring tension. The L stick button provides no feedback at all when the stick is pressed forward (which is the only time you would use it in this particular game). Finally, and most unforgivably, it is CORDED!!! This is simply inexcusible. This may be MS telling them they cannot have some proprietary wireless tech or something, but it certainly is lame.BOTTOM LINE: If you are a serious MW2 player you will look at this controller and want it. The features look really good on paper. Do not forget, however, that the stock controllers for the 360 are excellent. This is a great idea that falls completely flat in execution. Do not buy this thing. You will be disappointed (and your wrists will hurt). Read more ›

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't live up to its potential
B. Fetter

You can reload and crouch without leaving the joysticks, they were on to something very valuable here. Unfortunately, the controller lacks the ergonomic curvature of the stock controller; it is generally uncomfortable for me and it cramps my hands. The triggers are nice, but they have very loose springs, so it takes some acclimation. The L1/R1 buttons are big and cheap feeling. The joysticks don't have a distinctive click to them, so I'm not impressed with that either. Maybe worth it if you need another controller, but I wouldn't replace the stock one.

2 out of 5 stars Mad Catz needs a lesson in ergonomics.
SCF

The material that covers this controller is quite nice and I'd like to see it on the standard 360 controller. Other than that, this controller is rather filled with negatives and at best plenty of indifference. The first problem is the shape of the controller. The contours of the 360 are clearly designed for the human hand. Almost all of those contours are erased from the Mad Catz controller and you instead have what is essentially a very controller that is kind of like attaching handles to a rectangular piece of toast. It also feels much smaller than a regular controller and far lighter. Almost small enough and light enough to be on the verge of feeling not just poorly designed, but cheaply made. The D-pad doesn't feel right. It feels "mushy". The ABXY buttons feel cheap and clanky. The triggers don't have the right "feel" when you pull them. They kind of have the same tactile "give" of the trigger of a cheap squirt-gun. Worse, they're kind of tiny and thin, which feels odd with your fingers wrapped over them. As if those aren't bad enough, the bumpers are horrendous. They're very large and entirely flat. Not curved around the corners of the controller like the standard controller. I can't see this feeling comfortable after long term use. I don't see why they needed to change the default setup of the triggers and bumpers at all.The main point of those whole controller is the set of "extra buttons". These are on the back. The biggest problem I have with these? They're TINY. If you hold a controller as I and most people I've surveyed do, you will be pressing these (near the base of the back/inside bend of the controller) with your ring fingers. How tiny are they? They're basically 'reset' buttons. You know, the kind of button you would use the tip of a paperclip on to reset a consumer electronics product to its factory settings. I looked forward to using the extra buttons for quick MW2 knifing or sprinting. These are too inconvenient and small to use with length (for running) or agility (for knifing). And of course, on top of all of this, it is a wired controller. Regardless of if that's a decision by Mad Catz or enforced by Microsoft - it's still inconvenient.I saw the negative reviews on this. And the more common "meh - it's fine, but there's no point in bothering with it" reviews around the web. I really sold myself on the two extra programmable buttons, though. I sure was let down. Probably the most useless purchase I've made through all of December and will never be plugged into the console for use again. Read more ›
