5 out of 5 stars Fantastic sim

This is an amazing simulator formula driving game. But it's rather "no frills", and a bit on the dry side. Even the graphics, while good, are just a bit dry and grey all the time. There is nothing here that is flashy; nothing here just for the wow-effect. There are no movie cut-scenes, even when you win the season. The only "real" game mode is career mode, and you are marched right through that in order with very few choices. So, what's the deal then? The deal is that the driving in this game is simply the best that has ever been done in a game. It's fantastic. I didn't realize how horrible my other driving games were for feedback, consistency, frame rate, and precision until I played F1 for a week straight, then tried to pop a few of my old favorite driving games back into the console. Wow. F1 spoiled me. F1 really IS that much better. It makes all your other driving games feel uncontrollable. (The other games still look better, though, and have lots of fun, flashy splashy graphics stuff going on and fun game modes...) If you are a serious driving fan, who enjoys precision driving down to the millimeter, F1 can't be beaten. If you enjoy circulating the same track for HOURS, just trying to shave a few tenths of a second off your time, F1 is totally your game, because you'll be doing that a lot. But if you hate being penalized for every tiny little error you do by track officials, and you'd rather slide your car around Bo Duke-style and play your racing games like a demolition derby, F1 is probably not your game. I like both styles of driving games; it just depends on my mood that day. :-) F1 is an amazing game for what it is. But it won't appeal to everyone.

4 out of 5 stars Fun game, works great with MS Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel

F1 2010 is a great simulation-style racing game. If you're looking for power-ups, time extension bonuses, and crazy over-the-top tracks; look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a game that accurately represents the thrills of the F1 season and all the turns of each international track, then this is a good choice. I love how great this game feels with the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel. I've been playing Forza for the past few years, and this game feels even better with Microsoft's racing wheel. You can adjust the settings, but the defaults are suprisingly good. The "feel" of the handling is better than any other game I've played - and that's saying a lot since I own a lot of racing games.

5 out of 5 stars Codemasters delivers another great racing game!

I've been wanting a GOOD Formula 1 game on Xbox since I bought the system. Waiting forever for one. When I saw months back that there WAS one finally coming I was excited. Even more excited when I saw Codemasters was making it, because after playing their DiRT series... I knew it would be a very good game. It has surpassed my expectations. This is an awesome game, the graphics set a new bar, it looks incredibly real!Pros:-The graphics are fantastic, the cars look incredible, the tracks look incredible.-Total adrenaline rush... it's all about taking the right line. If you go to wide on a turn, you're in trouble. When you hit that fast series of left/rights at Silverstone at 160+ mph, or nail Eau Rouge at Spa perfectly, you'll know what I mean-Career mode is long and a LOT of fun. You start off with one of the new teams that isn't very competitive, and the better you do the better chance you have at getting a contract offer from a better team. I got an offer to drive for Red Bull during my 2nd season.Cons:-Some tracks just seem impossible to beat the AI. Monaco for example. It's a tough track, but even the times that I've taken every corner perfectly I'm still WAY slower than the top 10 cars. It's like they are impossible to beat on this track but other tracks very easy.Overall it's an awesome game well worth a look for anyone interested in racing games or Formula 1. You wont be disappointed that you bought it. It's appropriately challenging on all difficulty levels, and you wont wanna put it down.

3 out of 5 stars Fantastic gameplay, 5 Star game- if not for corrupted game saves
QUIZ KID

F1 2010 is an amazing racing game. The graphics are great, and the racing is fun. I won't ramble on about how great this game is because everyone knows that the game is great. The only problem I have about F1 2010 is a HUGE problem, and one that MANY people have been experienced. Players game save can be corrupted (erased). This occurs after completing an Research & Development objective in practice, if you retire to the paddock via the Engineer (in the garage); terminally damage your car and select retire to paddock; get disqualified and select retire to paddock. So after a practice session where you complete an R&D objective and unlock a new upgrade make sure you then load in to the following qualifying session before exiting the game. Unfortunately after the game save is corrupted, you will have to start the game from the very beginning, losing all of the save.So my best advice is to be careful. Codemasters is currently producing a patch to fix this problem, but who knows when this will be out.

5 out of 5 stars Only for F1 aficionados
Niko

I have only managed the start up process and a couple of laps but they were enough to blow me away! I have the MC2 sports wheel and pedals which work with the game. This is definitely not a game for those seeking Mario Kart or other speeding games. You need to know and follow F1 passionately to enjoy this game.UPDATE 1: The more I get into it the better! It is one tough game but totally enthralling. I may have to invest in the wireless wheel and pedals at some point but will wait for better availability (currently 2 - 5 weeks) and improvement with my skills. Definitely only for F1 fanatics!
